On Otober 6, the former head of the Komi Republic Vladimir Torlopov was placed under house arrest. He is accused of fraud and forming a crime ring which he has confessed to. According to the Investigative Committee he acted together with another former head of the republic - Vyacheslav Geizer. Damages in the case are aetimated at 2.5 billion rubles.
Roman Balenov sheds light on the case.

Also facing accusations of bribery are the former general director of Beeline - Mikhail Slobodin, co-owner of a group of companies called Renova Yevhen Olkhovyk and CEO of T Plus - Boris Vainzikher. Both have been from Syktyvkar and it is no accident that they are in Moscow” said Roman.

"There is absolutely no need to relocate a person from one region to another. It is evident that the when these people were transferred from a fairly remote region, the purpose was to conduct an investigation which involves them. There is reason to believe that they are here for cross-examination or to face charges. Since this case is monitored by senior management of the Investigative, exercising this control is certainly easier when the accused are present” remarked Roman Belanov.
