In Russia the number of dismissals because of the posts in social network has increased, says Tatyana Nikolaenko. Employers believe that inapropriate statements undermine the company's image and may cause damage to the business.
The rule of conductions in social networks may conflict with Art. 3 of the Labour code. The article expressly prohibits discrimination because of the affiliation of the employee to voluntary associations or social groups for other reasons not related to his professional qualities. However, to prove discrimination in legal conflicts can be difficult for employees. But the most persistent ones reach court.
